Driving the Silk Road with a Volkswagen van

So, in 2020 we worked on our van. Got rid of all the rust, painted the outside, changed the inside and made plans to drive all the way to China. In 2021 we are leaving for the trip. The world is still in the grip of the virus but spending lock-down in nature while living in the van is better than in a city surrounded by smog. In this part of the blog ‘advantures‘ we take you with us on this incredible and unpredictable journey.
We will be driving the Silk Road with a Volkswagen T2 from 1976. The journey starts at home in The Hague and the practise ride will be from The Hague, The Netherlands to Venice, Italy.
That’s where the Silk Road ends and for us starts. From Venice we will drive all the way to Xi’An, China. The route is not written in stone as in these times one never knows what happens.
